ENROLLMENT FAQ
What is the NEISC and how was it started?
The Near Eastside Innovation School Corporation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization formed in 2017 and currently operates two schools on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis through the Indianapolis Public Schools’ Innovation Network.

What is an Innovation School?
Innovation Network Schools are schools within the IPS portfolio of schools but are independently operated by either a charter or not-for-profit entity. Innovation Schools have the greatest amount of operational and academic flexibility of all IPS schools and were created beginning in the 2015-2016 school year.
Why should I send my child to an NEISC school?
NEISC schools’ vision is to prepare students to positively contribute to the quality of life of their community. We are committed to doing this by preparing students using a whole child approach that encompasses two-generational supports, social and emotional development and personalized learning in the classroom.
We believe that ALL children deserve a high-quality education available to them right in their own neighborhood and we pride ourselves on being able to deliver a top-notch experience for all students and their families. At NEISC schools, academic offerings are personalized in such a way that ensures all students are able to access grade level content where they see themselves in the curriculum and are provided opportunities to engage in learning that is meaningful.
Social/emotional learning inspires our young people’s compassion, self-awareness and empathy for others. Finally, our two generation supports brings together a personalized set of local resources to wrap around both the child and their family to help them feel safe, healthy and supported.
We invite potential families to come check out our schools in person while school is in session. We are happy to schedule a tour at your convenience and a member of our administrative team will be on hand to guide you through the building and answer any questions you may have.

What are my child's transportation options?
We partner with Indianapolis Public Schools to provide bus transportation based on your student’s home address. We follow IPS guidelines for the distance from your address to the bus stop as well as the required distance from the school for students to receive a bus stop.
Please contact each school’s front office for more information or visit the IPS Transportation page.
How much does it cost to attend an NEISC school?
All NEISC schools are no-cost, tuition-free, public schools.
What are my options for before and after school care?
NEISC schools are “early start” schools (7:30am start) so there is no Before Care provided. Our schools do offer After Care through the John Boner Neighborhood Center’s EDGE After School program.
Currently, EDGE is on a waiting list but you may add your child to the list by filling out the EDGE Sign Up Form.
A few of our neighborhood partner organizations may also have after school spots available and can be contacted directly for more information.
